A Great Purchase (2021)

Solo exhibition at Ana Mas Projects, Barcelona (ES)
27.06 - 10.09.2021
For his project 'A Great Purchase', Willem de Haan replicated the interiors of three local collector's homes. Inside these replicas hang the original artworks of artists represented by the gallery, which have been purchased by the collectors over the past years. Artworks that, for the first time after their acquisition, are now returning to the gallery intimately accompanied by their own surroundings.

Upon agreeing to lend out the artwork, the collectors were offered the opportunity to fill their vacated space with a temporary artwork. The choice for their replacement was made from a selection of available artworks from Ana Mas Projects gallery. The works 'Casa (Pápado)' (2020) by Mercedes Mangrané, 'Serie Déserts' (2009 - 2012) by Pep Duran and 'Untitled' (2013) and 'Untitled' (2013) by Alberto Peral are currently back on view at the gallery and have been replaced by 'Untitled' (2019) by Regina Gimenez, 'Lago Salino' (2015) by Ada Bobonis and 'Paper Ball #6' (2021) by Willem de Haan, which are currently integrated in the interiors of the collector's homes.

'A Great Purchase' is developed in collaboration with Gracias por su visita and carried out within the framework of the programming of Art Nou 2021.
