New series of sculptures, reflecting on the aspiration of endless growth. Made for the Rotterdam office of Belastingdienst and Douane. The custom multi–level steel wheelbarrows carry sand from the Rotterdam harbour, recently extracted from the North Sea seabed to extend the harbor into the ocean. Concrete casts from real fossils found in this extracted sand, borrowed from the collection of Het Natuurhistorisch, are added to the piles of sand.

The 6–level wheelbarrow measures 351 cm in height and weighs 188 kg when filled up. It’s quite impossible to handle.
