Vleespoort (Flesh Gate, 2018)During Kunstenfestival Plan B in Bekegem (BE) Willem de Haan designed 5 gates in collaboration with various locals. For the Vleespoort Willem spoke to Bart and Silvia, owners of the local butcher shop, to come up with a design to welcome customers into their store. This resulted in a gate that presents a very undiluted portrait of the main thing they have to offer: vlees (meaning: 'meat' or 'flesh' in Dutch).
This work was made on location during a short residency period in Bekegem and was documented by Bo Bannink. |
